Hello Parents and Students!
It's an exciting time of the year for the band! We're working hard in class (and having a great time) in order to be prepared for our concert and festival which are both in April. The Concert Band, Wind Ensemble and Percussion classes are making some great progress right now! As students head to spring break, I wanted to make sure that everyone was on the same page in regards to upcoming events:
On Tuesday, April 5th from 3-6 PM all band students will be involved in our rehearsal which is to prepare for our concert.
Thursday, April 7th is our Band Concert. Call time is 6 PM in concert black. The concert is free to attend and begins at 7 PM. Please make all efforts to be at this most important concert of the year.
Our District 3 Band Festival will be held at Vallivue High School this year. Concert Band and Percussion students will attend during the school day on Thursday, April 14th while Wind Ensemble and Percussion students will participate in the festival on Friday, April 15th during the school day. More details for those two days will be sent out following spring break.
Recently, I've discovered that KHS will be stretching out SAT testing on the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday right before our festival. Since we'll be lacking class time to make sure of our preparation for the festival we will have to have these two rehearsals which everyone will need to participate in:
Concert Band and Percussion students will have a rehearsal on Tuesday, April 12th from 2:45 to 5 PM in the KPAC.
Wind Ensemble and Percussion students will have a rehearsal on Wednesday, April 13th from 2:45 to 5 PM in the KPAC.
Thank you for your support and encouragement of your students. This month of April is going to be a great experience for these students!

Hello Parents and Students,
We're getting ready for our concert this week with a rehearsal on Tuesday from 3-6 PM in the KPAC.
The concert is Thursday with a student call time of 6 PM in concert black attire.
I wanted to take a second here and share what's upcoming in January and February when we get back from break. We will begin our performances as a pep band at the high school varsity basketball games. The band will be playing at 8 different games, but to lighten the load on individual students, I have split the band in half so that students are required to attend only 4 games. They are however, welcome to attend all 8 if they would like. Pep Band attire is blue jeans and a black band shirt. On the attachment you'll find the list of which students are playing at which games and the call time for each. This information is also provided on our band calendar at www.kunabands.com/calendar
Most basketball games will have a student call time of 6:30 PM with the band playing before tip-off which is normally 7:30 PM. The game is likely to be finished around 9:30-10 PM if I can remember correctly. The band will play before the game, play the national anthem, and play during halftime in addition to playing the timeouts and in between quarters.
Thanks for all that you do to support the band and have a great week!

Hello!
This week we have two after school rehearsals on Tuesday and Thursday from 4-7 PM.
On Friday, we will have our last regular season football game. Call time is 6 PM.
We will recognize Seniors at halftime of the football game. Parents are encouraged to come support their Seniors as they receive recognition at the beginning of halftime. This can be done by simply walking down to the track on the south side of the bleachers and meeting up with your students a minute or two before the end of the first half. We will recognize students by reading their names, presenting them with an award and shaking hands before we move on to perform our entire halftime show.
Seniors, please make sure you check in with Mr. Krall sometime before Friday in order to verify information that is to be announced at hafltime. Please keep in mind, band seniors will be recognized at the final band concert as well.
Thank you so much for your support and GO KAVEMEN!

Students will be helping out with running the show and watching other bands' performances throughout the day.
Pizza will be provided as lunch for students.
Students will perform at 5 PM at KHS Stadium.
