ENSEMBLE INFORMATION
At the KMI, we strive to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for our guests at Kuna High School. Please don't hesitate to ask questions or ask for help when in attendance at our event.
Bus and Equipment Parking: Please refer to the map below. Upon arrival to KHS, entrances and exits will be marked and guides will be available to stamp performers' hands and direct bands to warmup areas. Buses and equipment trailers will be parked on a first-come, first-served basis in the parking lot on the EAST side of Kuna High School near the tennis courts. Props may be dropped off on the blacktop on the west side of the gym so that they are closer to the field. See map for location.
Warm Up: The two warmup areas for music are located north of the main building (northwest from the bus parking lot). Each band will have a scheduled time to use the music warmup area. A grass field is also available for non-music warmup purposes. It is located directly north of the bus parking lot. Please be considerate of other groups as you use the field.
Timing: The KMI uses D3 Rules and Regulations in all regards except for timing- each band will have 15 minutes to enter the field, perform and exit.
Performer Restrooms: Upon arrival, band members may use the restrooms in the Arena foyer (access from East and West sides of the building).
Field and Stadium: The field is grass and will have yard lines, high school hashes, yard marks and numbers present. There is a track providing access to the front sideline. The home side bleachers are for spectators and the away side bleachers are open for bands/participants. The entry point to access both sides of bleachers is at the northwest corner of the field.
Power on Field: There will be an electric cord with a power strip on the track at the 50-yard line.
Awards Presentation: Drum Majors and Captains are to report to the field entrance gate before the Kuna Gold Band and Guard performs. Trophies will be awarded for placement, and certificates will be provided for caption awards.
Meet and Greet: There will be a meet and greet held with the adjudicators following the awards. This will be held near the main building at the outside picnic tables. This meet and greet will feature rotations to interact with small groups of judges at a time.
Hospitality: A director’s lounge with refreshments will be provided in room 103 following the show.
Concessions: Concessions will be located at the KHS Stadium concessions building, directly behind the spectator stands. We are proud to feature homemade tacos among other concession options. Please consider encouraging students and families to take advantage of the concessions. All proceeds go to the Kuna Band program.
Credentials/Access: Band staff and chaperones will have gate entry with their wristband or school ID. One chaperone wristband will be given for each ten performers. All band members will be given handstamp upon entry to the parking lot. Judges and Band Directors/Staff will have access to the hospitality room (art room 103) with their wristband or school ID following the show. Please avoid using the press box to give the adjudicators the best experience possible. Please support our event by purchasing tickets!
